Oranmore (Irish: Órán Mór) is a village in County Galway on the outskirts of Galway city, Ireland. With its major housing developments, Oranmore is rapidly becoming a part of Galway's commuter or suburban belt. In 2004 Oranmore was listed as one of the communities with the highest per capita incomes in Ireland.

Oranmore is situated 9 km (5.6 mi) east of Galway City on the edge of Oranmore Bay, an inlet of Galway Bay

The focus of local industry has recently shifted from primarily dairy agriculture to tourism, manufacturing and logistics. There are several industrial parks located near the village, such as Deerpark Industrial Estate which has been a hub for industry for many decades particularly in the precast concrete, chemical and steel fabrication industries. Oranmore now has four hotels and several restaurants. Lidl opened in June 2009 on the site of the old Oranmore Dairies.

Sport

The Oranmore Judo Club trains in Oranmore Community Hall, Wednesdays and Fridays, Juniors – 6.30 – 7.30pm; Seniors – 7.30 – 8.30pm afterward (Sept – July).

The Galway Bay Sailing Club is located in Renville, Maree.

Oranmore-Maree GAA Club has active gaelic football, hurling and camogie

Naomh Mhuire Ladies Football Club, Oranmore Maree run teams from Under 10 to Minor and Junior.

Galway Bay Golf Resort located in Renvile, Oranmore

Joe Howley, Irishman involved in the struggle for Irish Independence, was killed by the British in December 1920. A statue stands in Oranmore in his honour.

Oranmore has been twinned with Clohars-Fouesnant, a small town in Southern Finistére in Brittany. It is 11km from Quimper and very close to the busting seaside town of Bénodet.
